Synopsis
In a light comic hyperbole, we follow the story of a good, kind but practically-unfit-for-today’s-world doctor, Čeněk Dobešek. Although a reliable doctor, he has no idea how to use his profession or calling to his advantage like some of his colleagues. Satisfied living in a one-bedroom prefab flat alongside his beautiful wife, Zuzana, and unfortunately his appalling mother-in-law, Marie Košvancová, he willingly complies with all who ring the bell and demand his services at any hour. His humility and willingness annoys his mother-in-law, who would rather have as a son-in-law a prominent doctor who earns big money and does not serve just anyone and for free, as Čeněk does. This is a traditional dialogue comedy based on 70s and 80s comedies that still appeal to audiences.
